To facilitate the application process and ensure that all necessary forms and documents are received by
NVS in a timely manner, we generated the Application Checklist for your convenience.
Complete the Application Form and submit the required documents
Please note that all requested information and application documents must be submitted before the admissions process
begins. Once the application is complete and all materials are received, the admission office will review the application.
Completing the application form does not guarantee admission.
It only prepares it for “Step three” of the application process, which is the review of the application.
Process and Review of Application
Review of the applications takes time. It may take up to two weeks for the admission office to
process a completed application. Applications may continue to be received by
the admission office staff. However, official processing of applications may be deferred to a later date.
The NVS academic year starts in August and ends in June of the following calendar year.
Applicants for admission to NVS are strongly encouraged to apply as early as possible.
There are no firm application deadlines, but as certain grade levels tend to fill up
rather quickly, it is recommended to apply sooner rather than later. The application is
reviewed in light of available seats, and the school's ability to provide adequate EAL
and/or Learning Support. If the Admissions Office has questions or concerns about a
student, the family will be contacted to provide additional information.
Notification of Application Status
Offer of Placement
The acceptance will be made by the Admissions Committee after reviewing all documents.
If your child meets all admissions criteria, you will receive a formal letter of offer from the
Registrar and can begin to anticipate a positive transition into the NVS Community.
For the new school year commencing in August, new students are generally not offered
places until returning students have completed their re-enrollment process. Acceptance
for new students will be offered before the end of March.
If an applicant meets admissions requirements but is applying for enrollment in a grade level or
program that is full, then that applicant will be placed in the wait pool for that particular school year.
If a place becomes available, parents are notified and will receive an offer of placement
(please see previous section). If it is determined that space will not be available during the
requested school year, parents are notified in writing. If a candidate is interested in applying
for the following year, a new application must be submitted.
An applicant may be denied admission when there are concerns about academic, social or emotional,
or when NVS is unable to offer a program to adequately meet an individual student's learning needs.
Upon acceptance of the applicant a one-time non-refundable registration fee is required for all new students before they are officially accepted into the school. Please contact our Business Manager with any specific questions pertaining to invoicing and payment of the school fees via:
Before the first day of school, additional documents may be required.
Welcome to Nile Valley School. I am proud to be part of the wonderful NVS family that
includes all of our children, parents, staff and supporters in the community. Every day we do our best to
ensure that our students are working hard in all aspects of their education. At Nile Valley we use the
American Common Core Curriculum as our standard for instruction. To supplement the Common Core we also
incorporate the newest and most innovative curriculum in the world has to offer. Our teachers use modern
research-based methodology to challenge our students to think “outside of the box.”We want to produce
students who have the right skills to be successful in their post-secondary education and beyond.
We teach creativity, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills.
We teach communication and collaboration skills. We provide instruction in citizenship
and personal and social responsibility. Beyond our academically rigorous curriculum Nile
Valley provides a wide range of activities to stimulate creativity and personal fitness.
We believe that by maintaining very high standards we can ensure that our students will
excel in the areas of literacy and numeracy. The teachers at NVS set high standards for themselves.
They want our students to receive the finest education possible. We have high expectations for every
child at Nile Valley and at the same try to instill a mindset whereby every child has high expectations
for him or herself. That, we feel, develops in our students an attitude that embraces learning for the
sake of learning.
I would encourage you to drop by the school anytime and see for yourself the wonderful things that go on every
single day at Nile Valley School! Mr. Faisl Abbas, Chairman. This site is developed by: MSaif, firstname.lastname@example.org
